LETTER: Miske knows the importance of education
To the Editor:
Eden Prairie highly values strong education for our kids and a safe community to thrive in. The pandemic is placing more stress on these priorities than ever. Families are being forced to make difficult decisions in the education of their children. As a member of the Eden Prairie School Board, I understand the importance of communication and cooperation between our city government officials and our schools on these issues.
In the schools, we rely on local Eden Prairie and Hennepin County staff to compile the latest COVID-19 data we need to follow Department of Health guidelines. The Schools’ relationship with the Eden Prairie Police is a vital partnership that provides a safe learning environment for students and staff. City council members who understand this connection are critical for our education system, and that is why I am endorsing Ryan Miske for Eden Prairie City Council.
Ryan knows from his own life experience how important an education is. Ryan attended local public schools before becoming a first-generation college graduate in earning his undergraduate degree at Carleton College. Later, Ryan earned two post-graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota. I know he truly wants to uphold the importance of education for our Eden Prairie students so that they can reach their goals and dreams.
Having discussed these issues of educational excellence and school safety with Ryan, I know that he will serve the best interest of our students and families on the City Council.
Please join me in voting for Ryan Miske for Eden Prairie City Council on November 3rd.
